Description

Abstract: Use of home telehealth (HT) for chronic disease monitoring and exacerbation management in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is increasing, but little is known about the relationship between adherence to the daily use of HT devices and its effect on health service use, such as cardiology clinic visits. This study looks at the relationship between adherence to the daily use of home telehealth technologies in Veterans with heart failure enrolled in the VA HT Program and cardiology clinic visits after one year of HT use.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: Cardiology clinic visits may increase with enrollment of patients with heart failure in a home telehealth program and should be considered when planning for health care system resources.
