Description

Abstract: We aim to estimate the impact of colorectal cancer screening (CRC) on colonoscopy demand in the Northwest Territories using OncoSim-CRC and chart-level data. We projected that an increase in screening participation rates from 23 to 40% would lead to a three-fold increase in colonoscopy demand. Incorporating these projections in CRC screening program planning could enhance the sustainability and feasibility of screening delivery.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: Appreciate the role for colorectal cancer screening in cancer detection.
Acknowledge the limitations of colonoscopy access in remote northern populations.
Understand the role simulation modeling can play in estimating resource requirements and planning delivery of colorectal cancer screening.
