Description

Abstract: Clinical Hematopathology presents an especially challenging environment for developing informatics applications - clinical workflows are highly variable based on medical need and cases often exhibit highly complex and nuanced results. Here we describe MPath-Heme, an intuitive and comprehensive clinical pathology case review and reporting tool, built for use in the Hematopathology service at Memorial Sloan Kettering to address these complexities.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: In this presentation, we aim to (1) describe the challenges software teams face while building systems in dynamic environments like hematopathology (2) demonstrate how document-based data models can be utilized to account for significant data variability in applications and (3) utilize modern web development best practices to deliver highly interactive and performant user interfaces
