Description
Abstract: A relatively simple CDS tool implemented in the ED quickly improved adherence to prescribing guidelines for duration of therapy, likely due to targeting of an important workflow. The CDS provides text-based guidelines and order defaults based on patient age. Within weeks of implementation, adherence to guidelines regarding prescribed duration increased by nearly 60%.
Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: Attendees will be aware of strategies to implement Clinical Decision Support (CDS) tools to help prescribers with guideline-adherent durations for antibiotic prescriptions.
