Description

Abstract: Cardiology fellows (and other trainees) are required to document performed procedures as part of their training program. Manual procedure logging duplicates efforts already being spent on delivering clinical care, leading to forgotten or incomplete documentation. We designed a note template to achieve procedure logging as part of our routine clinical care workflow and noticed increased capture with less documentation burden.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: I hope to inspire the audience to think about how they might use clinical informatics approaches to reduce documentation burden for their trainees while also improving the quality of said documentation.

I will share with them the steps we took to design, implement, and test our workflow. I'll also share some encouraging results and lessons learned.
