Description

Abstract:
Atrium Health implemented a virtual patient observation solution in 2016. The goal was to reduce the fall rate, decrease 1:1 sitter hours, decrease the rental of specialty beds, and lower restraint utilization. Atrium implemented a 3D motion camera and falls prevention solution with integration into the EHR. Subsequently, Atrium Health has recognized substantial clinical and financial ROI, expanded with new use cases into pediatrics, and started a multi-state initiative monitoring patients across state lines.

Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.:
Attendees will learn the requirements of the clinical care re-design including workflows, EHR integration, governance, and data-driven best practice development to implement a virtual sitter program. They will be able to connect with Atrium Health in follow collaborations such as phone calls and site visits to complete a deep dive discussion into the virtual care sitter journey which has proven to be both clinically and financially relevant for this organization.
