Abstract: Synthea^TM creates realistic medical histories using many interdependent disease modules. This study adapted Synthea to build a predictive tool that estimates the effects of medical standards changes on Air Force readiness. We added or modified 45 Synthea modules, covering 92.4% of diagnoses impacting readiness between 2007 - 2017. With Synthetic AirForce, users can modify medical standards to predict the readiness impact. Upon validation, policy leaders could use this tool to visualize policy ramifications before implementation.

Attendees should gain an understanding of Synthea, the relevant use cases for adopting it within their own organizations, and an example predictive modeling application.
