Description
Abstract: NLP-PIER (Natural Language Processing-Patient Information Extraction for Research) is a self-service tool for searching clinical notes that was deployed at our institution in 2015. After completing user testing, we redesigned the tool from the ground up and deployed a new version in 2019.This interface has improved usability, an update the look and feel, and incorporates new features. This represents a step forward towards improving the usability and expanding the functionality of NLP-PIER.
Describe the new knowledge and additional skills the participant will gain after attending your presentation.: After attending this poster presentation, participants will be able to understand the improvements made to NLP-PIER expand functionality and improve the usability of the system. This knowledge can help others designing similar systems at other institutions.
